No ride for 2017!
|We regret to inform you that the Oakland Bay and Capitol Riders chapters of Back Country Horsemen of Washington will not be hosting the Kennedy Creek Fun ride this coming May.
Our membership is falling behind with our personal commitments to our homes and families. Oakland Bay will continue to work on keeping trails rideable as we are able to and are dedicated to sponsoring the ride again next year, 2018.
We are an active chapter and encourage anyone interested to contact us to become involved in maintaining Kennedy Creek trails as well as getting together for rides and community projects. New members are vital to our continued success and keeping the Kennedy Creek trails open for everyone's enjoyment.
Sometime this summer we will be assisting the South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group with work on their salmon trail. We welcome your participation.
Thank you all for your participation in the Kennedy Creek Fun Ride over the past 17 years - we look forward to seeing you again next year.
We welcome your participation in our trail maintenance and you can keep updated by visiting oaklandbaybchw.org/calendar-of-events.html
We also want to invite you to join us (or Capitol Riders). You can find membership applications at oaklandbaybchw.org/OAK_membership_app_2017.pdf and capitolriders.org/documents/CapRidersMemberApp2017.pdf

|In addition to the ride sponsors below we also wish to thank these two companies for their donation of materials at cost for our wilderness toilet project! We used funds from the ride for this.|
|Using money raised from the ride, the chapter was able to construct six of these toilets, a 1929 design called the "Wallowa", for the Cle Elum Ranger District on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest at their request. We are hoping to do more of these in the future.|
We would like to thank our 2016 sponsors
Please do business with them!
TLC Tack shop has closed.
Last, we want to thank the land owners without which we would not have a place to hold this ride. Green Diamond Resources owns the timbered portion of the area and Taylor Shellfish Farms owns the field on which we set up and park/camp.
